Town of Vulcan Utilities

The Utilities section provides reliable, quality water and wastewater systems. This section ensures that all utilities infrastructure meets current standards and practices, operates all systems according to all applicable codes, and responds to emergencies and customer concerns.

All residents connected to the municipal water and wastewater systems are billed bi-monthly for services.

  

Residential utility rates are as follows:

    • Garbage Collection                                      -   $20.00

Water: The Town of Vulcan along with Vulcan County, the Village of Carmangay and the Village of Champion is a member of the Twin Valley Regional Water Services Commission. The Commission is in charge of the provision of potable water to these communities.

Waste Water: Sewage treatment is provided & administered by the Town of Vulcan.

Garbage Collection: Garbage collection is contracted to the Vulcan District & Waste Commission and is collected weekly as follows:

Tuesday – South of Centre Street
Wednesday – North of Centre Street
Friday – Allen Acres
Friday – Whispering Creek, Whispering Greens, The Fairways, Whispering Willows

Recycling: Vulcan offers a recycling depot @ 110-1 Street North as well as a bottle depot @ 804-2nd Avenue North (403-485-2221).
Transfer Station: The Vulcan District Waste Commission (403-485-8442) operates the Transfer Station located east of Town on Highway 534. The Transfer Station hours are as follows:
Monday        :    8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday       :    8:00 a.m. -  5:00 p.m.
Wednesday  :    8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Thursday      :    8:00 a.m. -  5:00 p.m.
Friday           :    8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday       :    8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

TOWN OF VULCAN UTILITY PAYMENT OPTIONS:

In Person
You can pay your utility bill at the Town Office located at 321-2nd Street South by cash, cheque, Interact, Visa or Mastercard.

Mail
Mail your cheque payment to the Town of Vulcan, Box 360, Vulcan, AB T0L 2B0. Be sure to include your bills stub or account number.

Financial Institutions
Payment can be made at any financial institution.

Internet & Telephone Banking
Most banking institutions have the Town of Vulcan listed for making payments via internet & telephone banking. Please be sure to use all the digits of our account number without the decimal point.

Pre-Authorized Payment Plan Your utility payment will be withdrawn from your bank account on the 1st of the month after the bills are mailed.

Pre-Authorized Monthly Budget Plan
Monthly payments can be made on your utility bill with a set amount withdrawn from your bank on the 1st of the month prior to the bills going out and the settle-up amount withdrawn from your bank on the 1st of the month after the bills go out.

E-Bill
If you wish to receive your utility bill by e-mail instead of through the postal service, please register by completing an e-bill service agreement form.
