Welcome to the Star Trek Capital of Canada

A region that’s well-known for its technological development, Vulcan’s seasonal festivals, tournaments and cultural events never disappoint. They're well-known to most locals, and some events even warrant an annual pilgrimage for thrill-seekers across the nation. From rodeos and a wide variety of cultural activities, the reasons to celebrate in the Star trek capital of Canada know no bounds.

Here’s where you’ll find an ever-growing inventory of must-see events happening across Vulcan. Notice something missing from the list? Please contact Bonnie Ellis, Director of Recreation.

The Town of Vulcan Recteation Strategy is our plan to showcase the hundreds of unique outdoor pursuits of our town to Alberta, Canada and the world at large. Give it a read and discover how we plan to spread the word.

Special Alerts

  • What is the Vulcan County Alert? Vulcan County Alert is for emergency alerts. It helps us contact you in a crisis: floods, tornadoes, wildfires, hazardous material spills, and any other emergencies that might affect you or your family. You will receive official, reliable information about what’s happening and what you need to do about it. We partnered with seven other neighbouring municipalities.

    More

  • Alberta Emergency Alert is a public warning system in Alberta that warns the public on impending or occurring emergencies affecting an area. The system was implemented in October 2011, replacing the former Alberta Emergency Public Warning System. Alerts are disseminated through various media outlets including television and radio, internet, social media and apps.
