The Utilities section provides reliable, quality water and wastewater systems. This section ensures that all utilities infrastructure meets current standards and practices, operates all systems according to all applicable codes, and responds to emergencies and customer concerns.
All residents connected to the municipal water and wastewater systems are billed bi-monthly for services.

The Town of Vulcan along with Vulcan County, the Village of Carmangay and the Village of Champion is a member of the Twin Valley Regional Water Services Commission. The Commission is in charge of the provision of potable water to these communities.

Sewage treatment is provided & administered by the Town of Vulcan.
Garbage Collection
Garbage collection is contracted to the Vulcan District & Waste Commission and is collected weekly as follows:
Tuesday – South of Centre Street
Wednesday – North of Centre Street
Friday – Allen Subdivision
Friday – Whispering Creek, Whispering Greens, The Fairways, Whispering Willows
Recycling
Vulcan offers a recycling depot @ 110-1 Street North as well as a bottle depot @ 804-2nd Avenue North (403-485-2221).
Transfer Station: The Vulcan District Waste Commission (403-485-8442) operates the Transfer Station located east of Town on Highway 534. The Transfer Station hours are as follows:
