The Town of Vulcan Public Works department has eight full time employees and is located at 1042A Elizabeth Street. The public works department is in charge of streets and roadway maintenance, parks and ground care maintenance, general facility maintenance, water and sewer lines maintenance, cemetery maintenance as well as other responsibilities.
During the winter months two employees work in the arena to create the ice surface and look after the general maintenance of the arena. In the summer months two of the staff members are responsible for maintenance of the Town’s swimming pool. As well during the summer the Town employs temporary summer staff through grant programs to help with the mowing of parks, green spaces, recreation areas and general maintenance.
